Easy Steps to Installing
- Install the Window Treatment on a Wood Board:
- Cut the board to the width of the treatment.
- Mark the widths of each product on the board.
- On the board, firmly apply the included self-adhesive velcro 1 inch from the front to keep the velcro out of sight.
- For an over-layered product, if the board allows, apply an additional velcro behind the initial one to avoid the stacks
- Using angle irons or L-brackets, install the board no more than 8" above the window to avoid the wall showing beneath the treatment.
- Make sure to cover the ends of the boards.
- You may find it's easier to finish the treatment first then install it to the wall.
- Install the Window Treatment on a Curtain Rod:
- Curtains rods give the same look as window treatments on a board. Because they are adjustable, they can be sized and relocated along with the products. They're best for installing on a bay window, where configuration for the treatment width is more complicated.
- Follow the same steps for Installation of Window Treatment on a board with the back of the rod replaced the top of the board.
- Install the rod to the wall according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- You may find it's easier to finish the treatment first then install it to the wall.
- Install the Window Treatment on Wood Blocks:
- Cut the board to the width of the treatment.
- Mark the width of each product and its velcro tabs on the board.
- Mark and then cut off unwanted portion of the board.
- Firmly apply the included self-adhesive velcro on the blocks.
- Install the blocks onto the wall while using the scraps to space them apart.
- Using the width and tab marks, install the products onto the board starting with the most under-layered product first and work your way up to the most over-layered one.
- Install the Window Treatment on a Pole:
- Cut the pole to the width of the treatment plus allowance for brackets and finials if applicable.
- Mark the width of the treatment on the pole.
- Lay the pole against a hard surface at the width marks, draw a line between them. Face this line to the top and use it as a guide to align your treatment.
- Firmly apply the included self-adhesive velcro as needed behind the guide line to keep the velcro concealed.
- Install the pole according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- To keep the pole from slipping or rolling, place a double-side adhesive tape or “Grip-it” liner between the bracket and the pole.
- For a smaller pole, you may find it’s easier to install the products on blocks, then wrap the velcro around the pole where it will be covered and fasten it to the blocks.
- Install the Window Treatment on an Arch Plastic:
- For a perfect arch, divide the width of the treatment in halves then multiply by 3.14. For other arches, try the Arch Plastic over the window itself.
- Cut the Arch Plastic to size.
- Firmly apply the included self-adhesive velcro onto the top of Arch Plastic as to a board.
- Face the velcro side outward from the window, use the provided screws to attach the Arch Plastic along the arch of your window
- Mark the widths of each product on the plastic.
- Install the most under layered product first, and work your way up to the most over layered one.
- Install the Window Treatment on Angled Windows:
- For angled windows such as corner windows, bay windows or bow window, you can treat each straight section with a separate treatment, or adjoin them at the angle(s) for one continuous treatment.
- If you choose to make a continuous treatment, after cutting the hardware to the width of the treatment, lay them on the floor, against the wall as they would be installed above the window.
- Note the indentation and then make any necessary adjustment on the widths for a perfect fit.
- Proceed as instructed for non-angled windows.

Maximum Number of Products |
- Then use the our calculation to compute the overlaps of the product to position them correctly:
Overlap Width = (Number of Products x Product Width - Treatment Width): Number of Overlaps
with Number of Overlaps = Number of Products - 1 |
Positive Overlap Width: The products overlap each other by that width.
0 Overlap Width: The products are next to each other.
Negative Overlap Width: The products are separated from each other by that width.
- Or use our Planning Tool to figure the quantity, size and placement of the products,
- Proceed as instructed above.
